June
Solo Exhibition in Shanghai
Gallery : road of tea
Planned Works : "Sky and Memory"
I have been taking pictures of the blue sky, sunset, cloudy sky, and other skies that move me. I would like to pick up my favorite parts of them and make them into a work of art as if they stay with me.
The sky and memory are connected.

September
Solo Exhibition, Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture
Gallery : Utsuwa Note
Planned Works : "Letter" (title undecided)
Patterns for engraving on glass that I started drawing in 2011.
Some were used only once, while others are direct depictions of plants. After organizing them properly, I found there are about 80 different patterns.
Each pattern conveys a message or symbolizes the meaning behind the language of flowers.
I want to create "Time Boxes" in shapes and colors that best match each pattern.

November 29 – December 14, 2025
Sonoko Matsuda × Kenichi Sasakawa
Glasswork Duo Exhibition
Gallery: Kurashi Japanese Crafts
For this exhibition, I created a series of seasonal boxes that reflect the rich and subtle transitions of Japan’s four seasons.
It is my hope that these works may convey a small part of the sensibilities that have taken root within us as we live alongside nature, as well as the culture that has grown from it.

December 20–30
【玄冬 Gen-tō】
WAKO Main Building B1F – Arts & Culture
I am pleased to announce that I will be holding an exhibition at the same booth as last year in the Arts & Culture section on the basement floor of the WAKO main building.
This year’s theme is “Gen-tō”, an old term for winter derived from the Five Elements theory, in which the color black is associated with the season of winter.
There was a time when nearly everything I owned was black. I began to feel as though I was choosing it without thinking, and when I mentioned this to a friend, she said, “Black is a wonderful color. It absorbs so much, embraces everything, and has a powerful presence.” Her words stayed with me, and simple as I am, I found myself falling in love with the color black all over again. Since then, I’ve chosen black with intention.
For this exhibition, I am creating boxes that reflect this deep personal fondness for black. They will be displayed together with my “snow crystal” boxes, which I always look forward to making as winter approaches.
